Recession and Retrenchment (Part 2)

“Employee Rights and Labour Laws”
Tak Ming will provide insights on Employee’s Rights especially in the context of termination, dismissals and unfair labour practices. He will walk us through what the Labour Laws have to say. Also in the light of the current economic climate and the downsizing of business operations, the threat of retrenchments and lay-offs is real. How would employees in such circumstances ensure their rights and benefits are protected? This forum aims to address most of the common questions which are the burning concerns of employees.

Speaker:
LAI Tak Ming is the Managing Director, ASEAN, Australia NZ for Human Dynamic Asia Pacific Ltd, responsible for the overall business and operations of the Group in the region. His experience as a HR practitioner span the educational, financial, construction and property development sectors. He has an MBA-HRD (1st in order of merit) from the University of Hull, England while his first degree BSc Ed (Hons) is from the University of Malaya.
Tak Ming was Vice President of GCF for many years and was President of GCF in 2007. He is a much sought after speaker & trainer & has also taught HRM in MBA courses at Business Schools in Malaysia. He is certified to provide Coaching. His desire is to bring Christian Faith to the Marketplace.
